Why do these companies contract to supply computer services and staff? |
| A |
Corporations, Federal agencies, States, and Cities
need computer services outside the scope of their expertise.
They hire from IT Provider Companies to supplement their regular workforce.
|
 |
| 2. |
How do they do this? |
| A |
They are required by law in most cases, and by good
business sense in other, to seek good services and expert staff at
openly competitive prices. They release bids to competing vendors.
These IT Services Providers have won bids and been
awarded a contract to deliver services and staff. |
 |
| 3. |
What makes these companies different from employment agencies? |
| A |
These companies have Registered Contracts. The client
pays the prices or rates for staff and services specified in the contract.
. Their contract with the client may allow them to hire and place
staff at many different levels. These companies place Contract-Contract
to Permanent and Permanent staff.
Employment agencies may get isolated positions to fill. Employment
agencies do not in most cases have a contract. Employment agencies
and job bulletin boards may be trying to fill the same position at
the same time.
IT provider companies with contracts lock in the work. These placements
will never hit the employment agency or job bulletin board.
A "contract" may supply computer services, solutions and
staffing for multiple projects, offices or agencies on a continuing
basis. |
 |
| 4. |
Why won't I find these companies and jobs posted on the Internet? Either in search engines or on job bulletin boards? Or compiled anywhere else? |
| A |
Other companies have to pay
$200-$500 per job listing to post on most bulletin boards. Posting
your resume for Free -- may go to only a handful of employers who
have paid to receive them. Other employers will not advertise.
They will use an IT Provider to do their work or hire staff for
them.
Many companies don't pay a hefty
fee for a single job posting on a bulletin board. They don't advertise
single positions. They get their work through the business open
bid process.
